About us
Originally from Chartres and having lived in Lèves, we’ve always known the Moulin de Lèves in a sad light, abandoned over the years. But the place had a soul, a history and incredible potential.
One day, my husband said to me: ‘Why not buy the Moulin de Lèves? It has enormous potential! At first, the idea seemed crazy… but it grew on me. In 2019, we decided to embark on this great adventure and made an offer to the town hall – owner of the site – to bring this forgotten heritage back to life. In October 2019, we signed the sales agreement.
Then came 2020 and its share of unforeseen events. The health scare delayed the project, but our motivation remained intact. Finally, in April 2021, we officially became the owners of the Moulin.
Then the hard work began: administrative procedures, technical studies, permits, etc. Each stage brought us a little closer to our dream. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2024 that work finally got under way on an ambitious project to restore the Moulin to its former glory.
After an intense year of renovation, in January 2025 the Moulin de Lèves was finally reborn. Today, we are proud and happy to be able to welcome you to our gîtes, in the heart of a natural and peaceful setting, where every stone tells a story and every stay promises to be an enchanted interlude.
✨ Welcome to our home, welcome to the Moulin de Lèves! ✨

Did you know?
A flour mill since the 18th century
From the 18th century onwards, the Moulin de Lèves operated as a flour mill, using the power of water to supply the region’s inhabitants and bakers. It played an essential role in local economic life for several generations.
De la meunerie à la mécanique
With industrialisation and the decline of traditional mills, the site’s vocation changed. During the 20th century, the Mill was transformed into a body shop, marking a turning point in its history.
A unique cultural venue
A few decades later, a theatre company took over the premises. This atypical setting then became a space for rehearsals and artistic creation, giving the Moulin a new cultural dimension.
A long abandonment… then a rebirth
After several years of theatrical activity, the Moulin was abandoned. Its condition gradually deteriorated, until we decided in 2019 to embark on the ambitious project of renovating it and restoring it to its former glory.
On the Véloscénie route
The Moulin de Lèves is located on the Véloscénie itinerary, the famous cycle route linking Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel. An ideal stop-off for cyclists looking for a relaxing break in the heart of an exceptional heritage site! Today, after several centuries of transformation, the Moulin de Lèves is opening a new chapter by becoming a warm and welcoming place, where past and present come together to offer our visitors a unique experience.
✨ A place where every stone has a story to tell… and where perhaps yours begins!✨
